Half - One Word Prompt
The word that you have to include in this prompt is "half"
HALF
Technical Definition - (given by dictionary.com)
one of two equal or approximately equal parts of a divisible whole, as an object, or unit of measure or time; a part of a whole equal or almost equal to the remainder.
In a world of wholes and completions does anybody really want to be a half? Being a half means either 50 percent is too much, or 50 percent is not enough. To be a half is to not be the amount that anyone asked for. It is only fitting that I don't ask you to complete this prompt.
Rules - (if you want to call them that)
Make the piece shorter than 1000 words.
It could be fiction or non-fiction.
You have to refer to the given word somehow in your piece.
Synonyms to this word - (in case you don't want to write about this one)
partly - limited - moderate - bisected - divided - even-steven
Here are some questions for you to get going - (or that you can completely ignore)
What do you do when you are halfway through something?
How do you identify the half of something full?
What does half mean to you? Yeah, I know what the dictionary will say. But when I ask you what is a half, I hope you don't quote that word for word. That'd be weird.
What I would write with this prompt - (that would probably be wrong)
I'd go on a full-blown rant about the halftime show for sports. But since I haven't been to a game in a while the whole view would seem out of place.
HALF is your one word for today's prompt. Complete this all the way, go too far, don't go far enough, whatever you do, try to enjoy this prompt.
You can leave your piece in the comment section below, or submit it here
