Literary Quote

“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.” — Zora Neale Hurston

Short Poem

Who Am I? by Natasha L. Bishop

Who am I, you ask?

I am a lion who comes off as a lamb.

I am an ocean with waves big enough to drown.

I am a roller coaster of emotions.

I am a hater of ignorant people, liars,

And people who use others for a gain.

I am a lost soul, a naive child.

I am one who has seen enough

That would make most people's skin crawl.

I am me, not you.

I am who I am.

Judging me is only a negative reflection on you.

So who am I, you ask?

I am me...just me.

This spacious café is equipped with all of your screenwriting essentials: long tables, outlets, and lots of great coffee. Long tables? Did I just write long tables are essential for screenwriting? Wow, I am really exhausted. If only there was an item I could drink when I was tired. It feels like there is something out there for that. And wait a minute. I am not even screenwriting here! I am blogging (obviously). Anyway, this place has lots of outlets and coffee for you to write that great manuscript you have been working on. Or, if you are like me, it is excellent to work on that decent draft idea that I may or may not get to. Apparently, a few vague ideas on napkins and random lines on word documents don't constitute an actual draft. I respectively disagree. With a warm, welcoming, friendly vibe, everyone feels at home here. Some probably even walk in the plant-filled place, put their feet up and order some coffee; that is how relaxed they are. The barista then needs to walk over to them and say, "Sir, this is not your home. This is a coffee shop." In my defense, the place is very welcoming, but not that welcoming. I can't blame them; I did not have any socks on that day either. That cozy and comfortable atmosphere with caffeinated coffee makes this midtown café a wonderful place to spend a day, or several, writing. It's a nice place to write and get work done, but please don't treat it like your home. You are kind of a pig. Sorry, but someone has to say it to you. Treat this as your new favorite coffee shop. That way, you keep those shoes on.

What Others Say Of It - Here are some comments on their facebook page about it

"A great place for casual work meetings. There is a lovely vibe, it is comfortable and airy, and their chai latte is great!"

"Great coffee and very tasty avocado toast"

"Great coffee, nice space, friendly staff. Welcomed addition to the 'hood."

This place has great coffee. That should be enough to convince you to try it out if you haven't already, or to go back there again if you haven't been there in awhile.
